What better way to beat the mid-winter doldrums than with a fun-for-all-ages, activities-packed weekend festival? That is just what you’ll find with Norfolk, CT’s WINter Weekend taking place Saturday & Sunday, February 22nd & 23rd. Businesses, organizations and institutions throughout Norfolk have collaborated to create WINter Weekend. Designed with everyone in mind, the weekend will offer art shows, kid’s activities, concerts, open houses, outdoor activities including ice carving displays, a “restaurant crawl,” and much more.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy: ice skating at the renovated town rink; sledding on the hill behind the Congregational Church (don’t forget your sled!); snowshoeing on the North Brook Trail (Rails to Trails Committee will loan snowshoes!); and cross-country skiing on one of the many trails Norfolk has to offer. Refreshments will be offered at each of these events.
Lovers of the Arts will find several music performances by a variety of bands, including a the Magari Quintet, sponsored by the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, as well as exhibits by photographer Marie Kendall and painters Tom Hlas & Alicia Mordenti.
General crowd-pleasers will include: the “restaurant crawl” through Infinity Bistro, Station Place Café, Wood Creek Bar & Grill, Berkshire Country Store, and the Manor House Inn; a classic Pancake Breakfast; ice-carving by the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department, events at The Norfolk Library and kid’s activities sponsored by the Botelle School PTO.
