October – 31 Days of Impact!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women in the United States. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival. Cancer does not discriminate and not only affects the lives of those diagnosed with the disease but their loved ones as well.

October is a wonderful time for all of us to come together to make a notable impact! Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the fight against breast cancer. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and launched the global breast cancer movement. The foundation has invested almost $2 billion to fulfill their promise to end breast cancer through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 50 countries.
