Cold air, dark night, warm fire, bright stars: there is a refreshing levity to autumn camping.
Somewhere between flip flops and sweaters we have welcomed the month of November. Porches are lined with firewood and lawns tidied in preparation for the coming season – while the Berkshire region has regressed into days of September-like warmth. Our efforts of preparedness and the continuation of warmth have created an unexpected holiday – a fringe season of extended exploration.
The Southern Berkshires, Hudson Valley & Litchfield Hills are the ideal stage for camping. Enjoy big skies, beautiful mountaintops, the Appalachian Trail – and an abundance of cozy nooks to “make camp” beneath the stars to enjoy the earlier sunsets and longer evenings in good company.
