"This theatre is in a beautiful country setting with spectacular productions. Totally first-rate. Their shows are cast with New York professionals"
"This is a little Theater and barn in a small town in Connecticut. Wonderful shows are put on here with amazing casts. Look for shows coming in the future and you will enjoy all that comes with the entertainment."
Broadway may entice us with images of colorful dancers and enchanting performances, but you do not need to make the voyage into the big city for a night full of dance, music, and a taste of the spectacular.
The Litchfield Hills has long been a haven for artists, performers, and devoted patrons of the arts. Tucked into the backdrop of endless New England charm, the Sharon Playhouse Musical Theatre rises as a beacon and testament to our local talent. Since 1954, the Sharon Theatre has delivered music and entrainment for the close communities of northwest Connecticut.
Featuring performances by the young and (not so young), every event by our beloved community theatre guarantees to inspire awe. While the 2022 schedule has not yet been released, we eagerly await to return to the picturesque barn theatre known for its excellent performance of past favorites, including the classic “It’s a Wonderful Life” and the fantastical “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
Throughout the summer, the Sharon Theatre will hold performances on its main stage, with concerts and special events occurring in the Bok Gallery in the off-season. For those more daring and wanting a taste of the spotlight, the theatre hosts acting classes for children and adults. If you have a Broadway dreamer at home, the theatre also offers summer theatre camps and a youth production on the main stage.
Before the release of the summer season, the Bok Theatre will be offering “Radio Days” on March 5th. “Radio Days” is a vignette-style, a tap dance performance that will take audience members through the Roaring 20’s up to the 2020s in a 50-minute mesmerizing showcase.
