North Korea: What’s Next? Two Experts Offer their Views
On March 24 at 11 am, Noble Horizons will host, “North Korea: What’s Next?” with North Korean experts Melanie Kirkpatrick, former Deputy Editor of the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page and Jack David, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction under the Bush administration. Both are Senior Fellows at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C.
Kirkpatrick was also the Op-Ed Editor of the Wall Street Journal and oversaw the paper’s opinion pages in Asia and Europe, the Far Eastern Economic Review and the U.S. columnists on foreign affairs. Her book, Escape from North Korea: The Untold Story of Asia’s Underground Railroad, recounts the repression and quest for freedom under the Kim regime. Kirkpatrick is a graduate of Princeton University and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Human Freedom Advisory Council of the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
Jack David is a National Security Expert focusing on combating weapons of mass destruction. Following his service in the Bush administration, he was awarded the Secretary of Defense Outstanding Public Service Award. Mr. David has a long history in human rights as a founder of the Lawyers Committee for International Human Rights; a delegate to a working group of the UN Human Rights Commission and a director of the International League for Human Rights. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, an honorary member of The National Unification Advisory Council of the Republic of Korea and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
