Litchfield Hills and Beyond: Guide to Area Hotels and Lodging

As summer temperatures start to dwindle, and a few leaves start to turn into shades of red, yellow, and orange, anticipation builds for the most vibrant and very glorious time of year. It is a time when attention turns from refreshing dips in the local lakes and rivers to crisp walks in the woods. The familiar sounds of splashing water turn into the crunching of leaves underfoot. Bathing suits are traded in for sweaters and flip-flops for hiking boots. Instead of sipping on lemonade, we brew some warm apple cider. It is a time of transformation indeed.

On Monday we all experienced the Harvest Full Moon, a reminder of this time of year when we celebrate the bountiful foods provided by the many farmers of the region. This season is a time to connect with nature and revel in gratitude for the beauty that surrounds us. As the leaves start to turn, the trees become the focus, and it is time for the return of the season’s travelers fondly known as Leaf-Peepers.

For those who want to experience the sights, sounds, sensations, and flavors of fall in the bountiful Tri-State area, peak season is approaching (Track your destination on this peak season map). It’s time to plan what will be your unforgettable 2021 autumn journey! Come see the beauty of the Appalachian Trail in Northwest Connecticut, the Hudson Valley, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Journey down the local country roads and take in the amazing energy emanating from the branches of the great Red Maples, Crabapples, Sassafrass, and all the local tree varieties. Local residents, we invite you to share this post with your friends, family, and loved ones who may be getting ready to make the trip.

As we often say, this is a region where you can Come for a Visit and Stay for a Lifetime! There’s no time like autumn to open your eyes to discover this spectacular part of the world, as there is no better backdrop for the unsurpassed real estate in the Northwest Corner and the Tri-State Region than the magnificent trees of autumn. For those of you who are ready to extend your journey for a lifetime, we at Elyse Harney Real Estate are so proud to show you to your new home.
