“The perfect Christmas tree? All Christmas trees are perfect!”
-Charles N. Bernard
Visitors to The Festival of Trees held at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, CT will find not only perfect Christmas trees, but centerpieces and wreaths as well. A time-honored tradition now in its 21st year, the festival is a two-week-long celebration of the Season that is free to the public, and truly designed to be enjoyed by all ages.
“Twas the Night Before Christmas” is the theme around which this year’s 85 entries were created and will be displayed. Entries are made by individuals, school groups, and businesses throughout the area, and can be bid on via Silent Auction for the duration of the Festival.
Each year The Festival of Trees kicks off with a Holiday Fair that offers Holiday decorations, baked goods, and unique gift items from local artisans. There is also a toy raffle and the ever-popular Loving Tree which offers gift certificates that can be purchased for residents of Noble Horizons in a “Secret Santa” fashion.
Mornings at The Festival of Trees are reserved for visits from local daycare centers, schools, and other area nursing homes. After taking in the incredible display, these groups join Mrs. Claus for stories, singing, and refreshments. The Festival is then open to the public from 12pm-4pm Saturday through Wednesday, and until 6pm on Thursday and Friday.
The Festival of Trees runs from Saturday, November 18th through Saturday, December 2nd. For more information on this and the Holiday Fair, visit www.noblehorizons.org.
Also not to be missed this weekend is the annual Sinterklaas Artisan Craft Fair on Sunday, November 19th in nearby Rhinebeck, NY. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
