In 2003, Lakeville, CT resident Christine Gervert, along with a group of like-minded musicians, founded Crescendo. What started as a small music program at Trinity Church Lime Rock quickly transformed into a nationally known, award-winning organization which includes The Crescendo Vocal Ensemble, The Crescendo Period Instrument Orchestra, The Crescendo Andean Instrument Ensemble and The Crescendo Chorus.

Crescendo performances take place mainly in the Spring and Fall, at churches and concert halls throughout Litchfield County, CT, Berkshire County, MA, and New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley.  A mix of amateur and professional singers and musicians, Crescendo’s aim is to not only perform, but to inform. In addition to concerts and interactive performances, they offer lectures and workshops that investigate the history of the classical works they perform.
